I can remember when I opened my first website, I thought for sure that I would have visitors on a daily basis, to my surprise that didn’t happen! It wasn’t until several months later, that I learned why no one came to my website.

• You can have a fully stocked, incredible website but if the search engines aren’t pulling your website up when people are using your keywords, then you’re not going to get the results you want.
• You need to know what keywords and keyword phrases are, why you need them and where to place them.
• Once you place your keywords on all your pages, titles and product descriptions you need to do some SERIOUS marketing.

Someone who is indecisive about purchasing a product or service, and never feels satisfied with what they are offered. In the end a tire kicker may or may not buy. The term comes from sales people at car dealerships. Tire kickers would come around frequently, kick the tires a few times on the cars that they liked, but never make a solid purchasing decision on any particular car or trim.

That tire kicker has come here every day for the last month, don’t waste any time on him.

Social Media is a great business tool. It really is free advertising, if you think about it. I mean where else can you talk about your business and reach millions of people without having to pay a fee? With all this social media wonderfulness comes a responsibility that many online internet marketers don’t realize, and that is, social media works when you develop the skill to build relationships.

If you’re only online talking about your business then you’re missing out on really building your business. What I mean by that is, if you are using social media to build your business you probably think you need to be talking about your business, right? Well, not so much. I mean, yes you have to talk about your business but not just about your business, you need to be spending time talking to your friends and followers having a real conversation on something other than your business.

Your fans and followers want to learn more about you, not just your business. Your social media manager can schedule your business updates, business facts, industry news and so forth, but no one, not even the best social media manager can be your voice.

You must be your own voice!

Don’t shy away from building real relationships with your fans, they want to get to know the expert behind the expertise, and social media has allowed this to happen. Just be wise in your update postings, make sure you’re taking the time to build a relationship and not tearing them down by throwing spammy updating on a continuous basis.

One thing that many online business owners are doing to build real relationships with their fans and followers is by hosting a live online events. When you create an online event, whether its 30 minutes or hours long, you are taking the time to be ‘real’ to others and that in turn, can really increase your business.

Take the time right now to create a live event and let all of your fans know about it. Tell them you are going to take Q and A during the live call, and to let their friends know about.

After its all said and done, don’t solely rely on social media platforms or your social media manager to create the contacts you need for your business success. Remember, your clients want the benefit of working with you!

Virtual Marketing Assistant shares her Virtual K.I.S.S formula for your blog woes!

It’s February ~the month of LOVE~ and you know that means it’s almost Valentines Day. I started thinking about all of the people I love:  my hubby, 5 children, 100 + family members, VA coach, business coach and numerous others.

Well, you know how one thought leads to another,right? Then my thoughts started to go towards my business. Which led  me to writing this article.

As I was going over some of my 2011 goals (also known as “challenges”) I discovered a few things I need to keep an eye on in my own business and thought I’d share them with you. I coined this article “The Virtual K.I.S.S formula”.

Here’s my  virtual K.I.S.S. formula:

K- Killer copy(Content): We all know that the search engines feed off of relevant text, or web content. But what are you supposed to do when you don’t have enough time to write your own information or you don’t like to write? Well, there are  few options to help you with your ‘killer content’. You can outsource it to a ghost writer, hire a copywriter, purchase PLR article, or have your virtual marketing assistant transcribe your videos and audios. Basically its best to do something rather than nothing simply because you don’t have time.

I-Interviews: This is a challenge for me since I really don’t like to be on camera or on the phone! But as all internet marketers know, we have to either interview an expert or be interviewed in order to bring more information to our visitors and target market about how our business solves their problems. Another way to do interviews or be interviewed, that is often over looked, is the fact that you can conduct interviews. Your virtual marketing assistant can create a spreadsheet have post it to your social media fan page and your website, inviting others to fill it out. You will get great original content plus the person being interviewed will get a backlink to their website. Don’t forget to ask them to let their readers know about the interview and to post a link back to your website. Done right, this can be a win-win situation for everyone involved.

S-Search: When was the last time your researched any keywords or phrases for your business? It’s probably a good idea to research what your target market is looking for on a regular basis in order to stay in the ‘know’.

S-Strategy: Finally, what is your strategy for maintaining your online business and how do you plan on reaching out to your current and new readers? Does your strategy include creating and selling info-products that go along with your services? What do you do with your social media contacts? Are you sending them direct mail or posting questions to their walls (not spamming them)? What other online marketing tasks can you do to bring more visitors to your website?
