Internet Research Assistant: Do You Need One?

In 2001 I began researching online jobs and found plenty of scams and other unethical practices making the first page of google. I knew from my initial research that I was not getting the results I had hoped for. Then I began researching how others were using the internet to make an income.

When I first starting working from home as a virtual assistant, I created and sold primitive crafts. I absolutely love the primitive flare, but within a year of being an online business owner I knew that this was more of a hobby than a business. This fact made me dig even deeper into researching business ideas online. It didn’t take long before I saw that the only real, legitimate “job” was one that I created for myself in the form of a business.

My first client taught me how to use my skills as an internet research assistant to help her find authors in her niche along with possible Joint Venture partners to host an online teleseminar, among other important business growing facts that she needed for her upcoming book. She knew the value that would be added to her business by actively outsourcing the research needs of her growing business.

If you currently have an online business the information you might be interested in knowing more about may include:

Who your competitors are?

What are they doing to grow their business?

What keywords are they using on their website pages?

How do you go about increasing your webtraffic?

Who should you Joint Venture with?

Maybe your research isn’t about your competitors, perhaps you are looking to start an online business that compliments your offline business. You might want to know:

1. What are others in your field doing online to increase their offline customer base?
2. What does their website look like?
3. Do they blog?
4. Are they on any social media networks?
5. Do they offer any products online?

As an online business owner, the very foundation of your business requires research. You can add more time to your week by outsourcing this specifics of your research to an assistant that have has the experience you need to fulfill this basic business task.

In closing, business owners need research for numerous other reasons. Finding the time to complete an internet research task is not always feasible for business owners. Hiring a third party, such as an internet research assistant, to research your specific business needs can not only save you precious time, it can give you the advantage of an objective point of view.

You already know that outsourcing to a virtual assistant can grow you business, but did you know she can also research speaking opportunities for you? If you are looking for speaking opportunities, be specific about your needs and wants.

Do you want only online speaking opportunities?

Or would you like offline speaking opportunities?

Mix it Up! How about dividing up both types of speaking opportunities by picking the best months for you to travel (think Winter versus Summer months)

Be specific about your topic. Don’t just assume that your virtual assistant will know what it is you’re wanting to speak about.

Share! What has and has not worked about previous speaking opportunities. Don’t be ashamed to share with your virtual assistant about any “not-so-wonderful” speaking opportunities that may have taken place, she may be able to take this information and use it to your benefit.

All in all, by outsourcing the research for your next speaking opportunity you will be able to focus your time other tasks that only you can do (such as networking).

P.S.

You can also have your virtual assistant transcribe your past and future interviews!

##

Stephanie Fish, please contact me to find an outsourcing package that rights for your business needs!
