Are Your Arms Tired? Learn To Outsource in 2009

It’s almost 2009, what are your business plans? If 2008 left you with tired arms from juggling all of your own business tasks, then you may want to start 2009 outsourcing. Not only will outsourcing help you lessen the stress of managing all of your own business related tasks, it can even make it seem like your getting more hours in your day. Some other outsourcing perks may include helping you get organized and see faster results than you would if you were to continue to handle all of your business tasks yourself.

If you want your business to be more successful in 2009 then perhaps you need to outsource to a virtual assistant. Even if you don’t know what tasks to outsource, contact a VA (virtual assistant) and he/she will be able to help you decide what to outsource.

Here’s a list of popular tasks to get you started on your “Outsourcing 2009 Success Plan” :

1. Content Writing such as press releases, articles, blog posting, and newsletter writing

2. Article and Press Release Submissions

3. Search Engine Optimization to website

4. Seek Podcast Interviews

5. Submit blog and/or podcast to various directories

This is only a small list of  tasks that can be outsourced. By writing a business plan, even a rough draft, you will be well on your way to having a more successful 2009.

Suffering from Business Burnout? COP’s is Here To Help You!

Business burnout can be suffered by any business owner, whether you own and manage an online business or brick-and-morter business. Most people would agree that business burnout can occur for many different reasons but the most common reasons are (1) When a person tries to do every task on their own or (2) They don’t know their limitations and try to do everything for everyone, and actually  end up neglecting themselves.

Here are 3 common ways to get control over your “business burnout”:

1) Chart- (also known as “plan”) Make a list of every task that needs to be accomplished, whether its personal, household or business related. Once you have everything written down assign a day of the week that you can solely focus on that specific task. Remember, every task should help you reach your goal. Charting your tasks and goals are very important for any size business. Here’s a little exercise that can help you chart your way to success. Get a large piece of paper and draw a bulls-eye with about 5 rings. The middle ring is your ultimate goal, from there each ring would be a step towards your goal. The most outer ring would be where you are today. Beside each task you should give yourself a date that represents the date you would like to begin and end each goal. Making sure you are giving yourself ample time to get a task completed makes you more focused and relaxed, there’s nothing worse than getting yourself upset over a task that wasn’t completed in an unrealistic time frame to begin with. Charting takes a little effort and some getting used to, but the pay off in the end will be worth it. If you are completely unable to focus on charting by yourself, then utilizing the assistance of a virtual assistant or business coach will be to your best advantage.

2) Outsource- Outsourcing isn’t just for the “big businesses” anymore! Every business can benefit from outsourcing, if its done correctly. If you look at your competition or perhaps a company that you admire, you’ll see that they have a team in place, with most projects and tasks being outsourced to another company. The owner does not do every task himself, infact his business is so large in part by having a team of specialists in place so that he/she can now focus on other aspects of the business. Outsourcing does not have to cost you a small fortune, if done correctly in the beginning. That’s why its so important to have your chart infront of you at all times.

3) (Be) Purposeful- Did you know purposeful means “compulsive, determined, driven”? To be successful in business every decision you make should be made on purpose and with a purpose. I find it very intreging how some people just jump into their businesses without a purpose and when they don’t see the increase in sales right away they give up. They might have a goal in mind, say for instance “I want to make $1,000 per week in sales” this is a statement, not a goal.  What is it that you really want out of owning and running your own business? It can be as simple as you not wanting to work for someone else. Being a purposeful business owner takes time, a lot of thought and an inner desire to make it to the next level and stick with your business. Being purposeful in charting your business must include having a team in place. You can’t do it all yourself.

COPs isn’t just for law anymore, it’s what helps your business succeed in this world and help you fulfill your business dreams. Remember the next time you feel like throwing in the towel, hanging up a “closed” sign and shutting your business doors, that COPs is right here waiting on you.

How Virtual Assistants Can Amplify Your Business Marketing

Perhaps you’ve got a small business and it’s been thriving with your own marketing and research efforts. But if you want to boost your business marketing, consider the services of a virtual assistant.

Virtual assistants who’ve been trained and experienced in marketing research and business marketing — particularly through the Internet — can be invaluable to growing your business. It would take time for you to learn and do everything yourself, time that you could put to better use by focusing on the aspects of your business that you enjoy and are an expert at.

For example, not everyone is adept at using Web 2.0 for business marketing. Besides, it can eat up a lot of your time every day. Wouldn’t you rather use that time to develop your business in other ways or even relax and enjoy your family?

Here are a few marketing and research tasks that a virtual assistant can perform for you:

* promote your business in social networking sites, a very time-consuming task
* produce a podcast which will expand your business’ web presence
* look at competitors’ websites and report on what they’re doing – so you can analyze what your competitors’ approach is and come up with strategies to outdo them
* find information you need to grow your business, such as identify affiliate programs that are relevant to your business and could increase your market reach
* look for websites or blogs relevant to your business where it might be profitable for you to advertise your products or services

Could you do all this yourself and still live the life you want? Probably not. Yet these things could take your business to the next level and ultimately increase your income. You should certainly be familiar with these processes in order to effectively hire and supervise somebody to do them for you. However, you don’t have to do them yourself.

Let a virtual assistant declutter your mind of the minute but essential details of business marketing and research. Then you can focus on work that have greater impact on your business, such as monitoring and evaluating your marketing efforts and those of your competitors, formulating strategies, and mapping out growth directions.

The Power of Two!

Have you heard of Joint Venture (a.k.a JV)? If not here is a brief description:
a business enterprise in which two or more companies enter a temporary partnership. Abbreviation: JV, J.V. (source cited below)

Joint Ventures can take on different forms such as creating and publishing e-books, create contests and even hold online seminars, as well as other partnership opportunities.

Now on to my story…about 2 weeks ago Kelly McCausey posted a “Barter To Success” blog post inviting business owners to barter their goods or/and services. So I jumped in with both feet and sought after an experienced freelance writer.

That’s where I found Teresa Hall owner of Write About Everything, so far our relationship has worked well. Here is her take on the new found relationship on her blog post

What’s The Next Step In Your Business Plan?

Have you ever felt like you’ve taken on too much in your business, but yet you haven’t reached that top goal?

Do you remember that time, when you first started your business and you didn’t have enough “work” to fill your schedule? Now, fast forward a year or so and your business is booming! Your schedule is so full that you can’t even take that next step in your own business plan because you’re so busy taking care of everyone else’s work.

Well, I was introduced to a book titled “Becoming An Online Business Manager” by Tina Forsyth. She explains in great detail what makes a great “Online Business Manager”, what their role is, how they can become one, and there’s even a “test” that you can take to see if you are “OBM” material!

Whether you’re looking for your own Online Business Manager or are interested in becoming one, this book is a great investment that you won’t regret spending your hard earned cash on!

Feeling The Holiday Stress Already?

The recent snow flurries reminded me that winter is upon us and that means added stress, particularly due to the fact that the Holidays are right around the corner. Can you believe that November 1 means that Christmas is only 8 Saturdays away!

When I start to count down the weeks until Christmas I start to feel over-whelmed and that can cause anyone to get lost in the chaos and loose focus of their business goals.

Right around this time of year, business owners start to take on added stress. They may have to deal with the stress of meeting end-of-the-year deadlines, clients and customers added demands (after all, they are feeling the stress from their clients and customers) and  not to forget, the stress of pre-planning for the upcoming new year!

Whew!  That’s enough stress to throw even the most calm business owner into a tizzy! By outsourcing just one task, such as article marketing, you can save yourself up to 10 hours in one months time. Just think what you could do with those “unspoken” for 10 hours?

Financial Woes Forecast? Not For Your Business!

Every time I turn on my computer, radio or television I hear how  our nation is in a terrible financial mess. These news stories may be true, however, I’m not letting them bring me down. As a business owner I am determined to take the good and bad times all in stride, by stepping-up my business marketing.

As a business owner you can take some active steps toward your own marketing success by:

1. Article Marketing- Make a goal to submit 1 article per week for 2-3 months and see if you have an increase in clients and/or customers. Make sure that your articles are educating your target market and not just promoting yourself.

2. Interviews- Are you actively seeking opportunities to be interviewed? Online radio (podcasts) are increasingly popular because people can be surfing the internet while listening to your interview. This is a great way to reach your target market by educating them through voice.

3. Blog- Are you adding fresh content to your blog? This is so important, yet it seems that so many business owners have a difficult time with this task. Don’t forget to add your articles, press releases and interview links to your blog!

If your already full schedule doesn’t allow for you to do the above items yourself, by all means, find a virtual assistant who can assist you in doing these important marketing tasks. Just remember, the entire world isn’t having financial difficulties, even though it might seem that way.

God Bless!

Overwhelmed By Success? Learn To Outsource

As a virtual assistant for online physical product sellers I see a reoccuring question:

”Do I really need to outsource?” The only way I can answer this is by asking you a few questions.

1. Have you seen a growth in your business?

2. Do you feel you are stuck-in-a-rut?

3. Are you so consumed with fulfilling orders that you don’t have time to restock your online photos, grow your social network or get publicity?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you need to learn “how” to outsource and “what” to outsource.
